Kobi Farm is a peaceful five acre sustainable farmstead offering a unique stay on the edge of the Maasai Mara ecosystem. Located on the banks of the Talek River near Nkoilale and bordering the Ol Kinyei Conservancy, we are just a 15 minute drive from Sekenani Gate, the main entrance to the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Established in 2020 during the Covid pandemic, Kobi Farm was created as a self-sufficient, off-grid home where sustainable living and wildlife can exist side by side. Today, we are happy to share this special place with guests looking for an authentic Mara experience away from the crowds.

The farm is home to our dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, sheep and cattle. We are completely off-grid, powered by solar energy and supplied by rainwater harvesting. We produce most of our own meat, eggs and honey, together with a seasonal selection of fruits and vegetables. Our biogas system converts cow manure into clean cooking gas while producing organic fertiliser for our gardens, helping us minimise waste and tread lightly on the environment.

The farm itself is protected by a solar-powered electric fence with posts made from recycled plastic. Beyond the fence, six acres of natural Acacia woodland stretch down to the Talek River. We have deliberately left this area unfenced to preserve a natural wildlife corridor, allowing animals to move freely through the landscape. Zebra, warthog, hyena, elephant, giraffe, hippo and even lions are regularly seen passing through, especially in the early mornings and evenings. Our camera traps often capture nighttime visitors, giving guests a fascinating glimpse into the hidden world of the Mara after dark. Across the river lies the protected 17,000 acres of the Ol Kinyei Conservancy.
