Sand River Bush Camp

If you're looking for a truly adventurous safari experience, our fully catered, leave-no-trace mobile bush camp offers the rare opportunity to stay on the banks of the Sand River, deep inside the Maasai Mara National Reserve and bordering Tanzania's Serengeti National Park.

Our temporary camp is carefully set up before your arrival and completely packed down after your departure, leaving the landscape exactly as we found it with no permanent footprint.

The camp accommodates up to six guests in three cosy 2.5 m × 2.5 m dome tents, each furnished with two camp beds, sleeping bags and bedding. Shared facilities include a dining shade, campfire area, communal short-drop toilet and a 20-litre bucket shower.

As the camp is located in a remote wilderness area where wildlife roams freely, our experienced camp crew and guides are always available to assist you around camp. At night, two armed wildlife rangers remain on site to ensure your safety.

Complimentary tea, coffee and  safe drinking water are available throughout your stay. 

Electricity is extremely limited, so we recommend bringing fully charged power banks for your phones and camera equipment, along with a head torch for moving around camp after dark. Please note that there is no mobile phone reception at the camp, allowing you to completely disconnect and immerse yourself in the wilderness.

RATES:

Our Sand River Bush Camp is available for booking on a fully catered basis, the cost will depend on your group size. 

~ Masai Mara National Reserve Park entry fees: $100 per adult per day January - June / $200 per adult per day July - December (payable directly to the Sekenani gate on entry). 

~ Masai Mara National Reserve Camping fee: $40 per person per night (payable to the rangers directly at the Sand River gate).

~ Safari vehicle charges from the Sekenani gate area: Full day guided game drive (11-12 hours) $200 / Half day guided game drive (5-6 hours) $150 (split between guests) 

~ Bush Camp set up including armed rangers: $150 per night (split between guests)

~ Full board accommodation in our dome tents with twin share camp beds, mattresses and sleeping bags: US$ 80 per person per night 16th September - 14th July / US$ 100 per person per night 15th July to 15th September.
